Volcán Coronado is a roughly 440-m-high, 2-km-diameter volcanic cone at the northern end of the 7-km-long Coronado Island, 3 km off the E coast of Baja California in the Canal de los Ballenas. The age of the most recent eruptive activity is not known, although fumarolic activity was reported in September 1539 (Medina et al., 1989; original source not referenced).
