Shoshonitic cones 1-3 km in diameter, mostly covered by Quaternary sediments, are present in the Jingyu basin just NE of Jingyu Lake and SW of the Anyimaqen-Kunlun-Muztagh suture zone (Jolivet et al., 2003). Apatite fission track dating by Jolivet et al. (2003) gave 0.5 +/- 0.2 Ma, which were considered to correspond to crystallisation ages.
