Shestakov is an eroded volcanic complex in the north-central part of Onekotan Island, south of the Nemo Peak caldera system. Gorshkov (1970) notes that this "massif was formed in preglacial times and then underwent glacial abrasion and postglacial erosion to such a degree that at present it is extremely difficult to restore its original form." No age information is known for the Shestakov volcanics, but it was not included in Gorshkov (1958, CAVW) or the IAVCEI Post-Miocene Volcanoes of the World (1973-80).
