Quaternary basaltic lava flows have issued from vents within the Nader Mountains between Taftan (65 km NE) and Bazman (65 km SSW) volcanoes in SE Iran (Catalog of Active Volcanoes of the World). These flows, including some cones and craters, were erupted amongst a group of rugged Cretaceous limestone peaks. Little research has been done on these deposits, but dating of material from Bazman and Taftan showed no Holocene eruptions.
