Feidat el-Mieza, a 680 km2 area with lava flows and minor pyroclastic flows, was identified by Lease and Abdel-Rahman (2008) as part of the Plio-Quaternary Euphrates Volcanic Field. This location was included in IAVCEI (1973) as a group of 11 volcanoes last active in the middle to late Pleistocene.
